Our Mongolian Yurts; exactly like those used in the steppes of Mongolia have found a perfect home on the grounds of the Cadbury family’s former Manor holiday house. Situated in a stunning location in Worcestershire the grounds are shared with Alpacas, which interact with and take for walks*. You are surrounded by countryside and each pitch has its own private area that you can enjoy.

*Alpaca walk needs to be a book in advance. The extra cost for Alpaca walk when the booking is less than 3 nights.

Alpaca Retreat has 3 families sized authentic Mongolian yurts. We can accommodate between 5-6  people on each yurt. Each yurt is set in a long distance to keep COVID-19 government directions.

The Angel Yurt

The Angel Yurt is situated in a suntrap in the rear garden of a Manor house. The Angel Yurt is the biggest of our yurts and can easily accommodate 6 people, but that could be stretched if you have a bigger group. The garden area around the yurt is mostly flat and good for games, there is a nice view of the house and there is a secret set of woodlands paths next to location primarily for your use. This yurt has fantastic access also to the public footpath which leads to Wasley hills.

We have a small bbq* available on the pitch and there is outside cooking space with a gas camping pot hidden among the trees, so you can make food rain or shine.

*We do not provide charcoal, there are plenty wood pieces for your use on-site.

There is a small parking area within 50 yurts of the pitch.

The Angel yurt is called after our leader and mother of the Alpaca pack. Follow her curiosity and stay in the Angel yurt.

The Little Judy Yurt

The Little Judy yurt is situated in its own little enclave in the front gardens of the Manor house. Although all yurts are well socially distanced, this yurt is separate from the main body of the site, giving you that much more freedom. There are lovely views down the hill over the grounds (and good playing fields :P) and countryside.

We have a small bbq available for the pitch and there is outside cooking space with a gas camping stove hidden among the trees, so you can make food rain or shine.

*We do not provide charcoal, there are plenty wood pieces for your use on-site.

The Muffin Yurt

Our alpaca Muffin takes a bit of time to build up confidence and likes to hide away sometimes. So we have called our middle pitch after Muffin, as it’s hidden away amongst some trees, and if you want to turn the privacy button on you can! The pitch has its own bit of grass out the front on a shallow slope which is all yours, there is plenty of cover from the surrounding tree’s should you want to get out of the sun and the yurt has a nice view over farmers fields to the rear which captures most of the light from the setting sun.

There is also a pathway that links you to a small forest hideaway (this is shared with all on-site, but this yurt has the best access to it!). There is also good access to the local footpath system, one of which leads up to Wasley Hill.

We have a small bbq* available or the pitch and there is outside cooking space with a gas camping pot hidden among the trees, so you can make food rain or shine.

*We do not provide charcoal, there are plenty wood pieces for your use on-site.

  • 1 Washing up facility stations
  • Mains cold water supply tap
  • Small fridge use

Group Sizes

The yurt is 6m in diameter so there is plenty of space for a group size ranging from 4-6 peoples. The yurt is setup with a double bed, a couple of sofa beds and dining area. We cater for many different groups,(Young families/older families/ groups of friends/couples) and can alter the layout and furniture to suit upon request, please feel free to contact us and will see how we can help.

Keeping Warm

The yurt is insulated and we have found warm enough during the summer most times. We have packed a few extra blankets into the chests in front of the bed in case there is a colder than usual snap. You just bring sleeping bags or sheets and pillows according to your needs.

Recycling

We take care of the environment! We don’t use pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers on the land – so there are plenty of weeds here and gorse that you can use to start up your fire. We recycle as much as possible and encourage campers to do the same. Recycling bins are available for glass, tin cans, plastic, and paper.
